This past weekend was an exciting few days of intense beach volleyball action down in Sandbanks. Despite the wet and windy weather more than 300 players played in this years Club Championships, each fighting to earn points to help their respective clubs lift the Club Championship Trophy.

This year Richmond Volleyball Club lifted the trophy for the first time in part thanks to their dominant performances in the U18 women's division, with the final being played between two Richmond teams, and their strong Championship team performances, especially on the women's side.
The first championship final was for the women's division, between Richmond and Fireball South West. The first matchup was Fireball's Star/Jagielska pair against Richmond's Keefe / Bullen, which was a tight game going to 3 sets, but Richmond took the win in the third set 17-15. The second game was a must win for Fireball, and their second pair of Tussis/Berstautaite came out strong against Fiļa/Kurek, winning the game in straight sets and bringing the final to a deciding Golden set with the championship on the line. Then golden set was played between Keefe/Bullen and Tussis/Berstautaite, with Richmond coming out on top to take the win 15-13

The Men's Final was an all Fireball affair, between their Southwest and North Devon clubs respectively, with Fireball Southwest looking to defend their crown from last year's competition. In a strong opening game, the first Southwest Pair of Gleed/Bello won the first game 2-0 against North Devon's Morgan/Pollock. In the second game North Devon's Lawson /Soczewka came out on top of Dunbavin/Morgan in a closely contested game, with the second set reaching a score of 31-29, pushing the championship once again into a deciding golden set. Gleed/Bello came back on court to take a decisive victory over Lawson/Soczewka, giving Fireball South West the men's title once again.

With these victories, both Richmond and Fireball have earned their spots to play in the CEV European Club Championships.
We hope to see you all again at the 2026 Club Championships!
