For our February Organiser Spotlight, we’re heading to the east coast of Scotland to St Andrews Beach Volleyball Club, based in the historic town of St Andrews.

Although officially founded in 2009, beach volleyball has been played in St Andrews since 2005, when the Scottish Tour first began visiting the area. What started as a small local scene has since grown into a well-established club that continues to develop players at every level of the game.

Today, St Andrews Beach Volleyball Club runs a wide range of coaching sessions and free play opportunities, alongside regular tournaments throughout the year. The club is led by founders Colin, Shelly and Jack, who are passionate about making the sport accessible to everyone, no matter their experience or ability.

One of the club’s proudest achievements has been producing international-level players who have progressed through their junior ranks and into senior competition. More recently, medalling at the UKBT Club Championships was a standout moment, along with welcoming many of the UK’s top players to their events each season.
